An engraved leaf on the SPCA of Wake County’s Tree of Life is an enduring way to honor or memorialize a beloved human or pet family member while helping homeless animals in your community.
Created by local artist John Gottilly, the Tree of Life emerged from the remnants of an animal control gas chamber retired due to an outcry by the community to provide animals with a more humane end. Its leaves represent the miraculous change and transformation taking place for homeless animals in our community.
Placed on the Tree of Life in the SPCA of Wake County Adoption Center lobby, your loved one's engraved leaf will welcome thousands of visitors to the shelter every year and serve as an invitation to help the animals in their community as well.
